  1. 2.5.3. Why does the burn wound turn scarlet or prunosu after healing and how to treat?
    • 2010/10/25 15:46:36
The scarlet color of the healed wound is caused by the color of blood vessels in the deep layer penetrating through the thin cuticular layer and blood vessel distention due to low local tension after the early healing of the burns wound; the prunosu color is caused by the angiorrhexis and haemorrhage of the local capillaries, indicating the symptom of subcutaneous blood stagnation. Therefore, the newly healed burns wound requires tender medical care, such as raising up the injured limb, avoiding thermal stimulation, bandaging the limb with elastic bandage for protection during limb lowering or functional exercises, and the duration and intensity of functional exercises should be performed with step by step principle.
