  1. 1.22. Whats the mechanism of MEBO in promoting the physiological healing of deep II degree burns without scar formation?

    The growth of epithelial cells (epidermis) and fibrocytes (dermis) in normal skin tissue is according to the ratio of 1:4 so as to maintain the elasticity and physiologic function of skin. However, histological observation of scarred tissues by immunohistochemistry staining revealed that the ratio of epithelial cells and fibrocytes reaches 1:20, which indicates the overhyperplasia of fibrocytes is the foundation for scar formation.
     
    In the reparation process of normal tissue, the proliferating speed of each type of cell is consistent, which maintains the normal skin histological structure. And each type of cell secretes one or more agents to inhibit the peripheral cells, avoiding the excessive hyperplasia of other cells. Therefore, in the special circumstance of burns wound healing, the way of burns wound healing is directly influenced by the proliferating speed of all types of cells during healing process.
     
    In early stage of burns, massive effusion, dysaemia, topical metabolic disorder, systematically negative nitrogen balance occurred and actually the proliferation of cells terminates. With the blood flowing and nutrition supplement, systematic metabolism turns back to positive nitrogen balance gradually. At this time cell proliferation is activated. If all kinds of cells in skin proliferate equally at this time, the growth of fibrocytes would be inhibited and skin repair will be carried out according to the normal ratio of different cells. If some kinds of cells could not proliferate or proliferate too slow, fibrocytes would grow very fast in order to fill the gap. This is the defensive measure of the body. Excessive fibrocytes would secrete massive collagen and cause scars. This is the cytologic reason for scar formation.
     
    When applying MEBT/MEBO to treat deep burns, it takes the following steps to achieve the result of preventing and reducing scar formation in wounds:
     
    As there is no scar excision performed, necrotic tissues were removed without causing further damage and retained the foundation of skin regeneration, which are PRCs in remaining skin tissues.
    The physiological moist environment is favorable for the reparation and regeneration of tissues in terms of normal physiological conditions (See Q14, Part1).
     
    By activating skin PRCs in situ to allow the transformation of the skin stem cells in remnant skin appendages and the directed differentiations of both of the adipose tissue stem cells and vascular-derived stem cells to miscellaneous cells in skin organ.
     
    Miscellaneous cells grow according to a proper proportion, thus the hyperplasia of fibrocytes is inhibited and wounds could heal physiologically without scar formation. The secret why normative application of MEBT could achieve skin physiological healing is that the wound is maintained in a physiologically moist environment. The wound repairing process is the procedure in which PRCs repair the wounds in situ according to normal repairing procedure of the body.
     
    For deep wounds where scars already formed, MEBO SCAReducer could be applied with pressure bandage to inhibit the hyperplasia of fibrocytes and reduce the formation of collagens to intervene the growth of fibrocytes thus reduce the hyperplasia of scars.
     
    After wound healing, the abradability, elasticity and flexibility of newly constructed skin still require improvement. MEBO SCAReducer could be applied to nourish and protect the skin so that the newly constructed skin could go through this transition period and form healthy and normal skin.

    23. What is the mechanism of MEBT/MEBO to reduce and prevent scar formation?

At this time cell proliferation activated. If all kinds of cells in skin proliferate orderly at this time, the growth of fibrocytes would be inhibited and skin repair will be carried out according to the normal proportion of different cells. The secret why normative application of MEBT could achieve skin physiological healing is because the wound is in a physiological moist environment. The wound repairing process is the procedure when PRCs repair the wounds in situ according to normal repair programs in the body.
    5.       For deep wounds and scars already form, MEBO SCAReducer could be applied with pressure bandaging so as to inhibit the hyperplasia of fibrocytes, reduce the formation of collagens and intervene the growth of fibrocytes thus reduce the hyperplasia of scars.
